Scent Refinement
Working from a supplied brand and scent profile (brief), we developed three fragrance samples for the client to wear, compare and experience over time before selecting and refining the blend that best represented the brand.
Note: Clients can also develop their fragrance using one of our Discovery Kits.
Scent Notes/Accords
A woody, masculine fragrance formed on a deep cedarwood base, layered with warm spices and energised with grapefruit and rum high notes.
Top notes
Grapefruit, rum and elemi.
Heart notes
Nutmeg, clove and patchouli.
Base notes
Vetiver, cedarwood and musk.
Bottle Design
Boxing Hares No.1 launched in a classic square bottle, allowing Peter Christian to test customer appetite through an initial small-batch production run.
Following its success, the second run introduced a cylindrical bottle with a refined walnut lid; a more tactile, ergonomic design that feels naturally aligned with the brand.
Our team managed filling, assembly, packing and production throughout.
Packaging/MOQ
The cylindrical presentation tube uses uncoated, parchment-like paper and crisp monochrome print to give the fragrance a more considered, luxurious finish.
Lower minimum order quantities enabled Peter Christian to launch at a manageable scale, prove demand and then invest confidently in upgraded packaging; showing how small-batch fragrance production can evolve alongside the appetite of an established customer base.
From Menswear to Fine Fragrance
Peter Christian has supplied distinctive gentlemen’s clothing since 2003, supported by a family tailoring heritage stretching back generations. Its combination of British tradition, country influence and understated wit gave the fragrance a clear world to inhabit.
The opportunity was to extend that identity into a new product category without creating something that felt generic or disconnected. Boxing Hares No.1 needed to appeal to the existing Peter Christian customer while offering a credible, giftable fine-fragrance product in its own right.
Rather than creating a generic branded fragrance, the objective was to capture something recognisably Peter Christian: confident, refined and masculine, with a subtle nod to the British countryside.

Challenge: Turning a Scent Profile into the Right Fragrance
Solved with three wearable samples
Peter Christian had a clear scent direction, but needed to experience how different interpretations performed on the skin. We translated the brief into three wearable samples, giving the client time to compare their development and confidently select the composition that most accurately expressed the brand before production began at scale.
Challenge: Balancing Freshness, Warmth and Masculinity
Solved through careful fragrance refinement
The fragrance needed to feel masculine and characterful without becoming too heavy or traditional. We balanced bright grapefruit, rum and elemi with warming spices, then grounded the composition in vetiver, cedarwood and musk. The result delivers freshness, depth and a distinctive woody signature with broad gifting appeal and everyday wear.
Challenge: Testing Demand Without a Large Commitment
Solved with a 50 bottle small batch production run
Launching a new retail category can make large production commitments difficult to justify. Our minimum order quantity of 50 bottles allowed Peter Christian to test demand at a manageable scale. Once customer appetite was proven, the bottle and packaging could be refined confidently for the second production run with confidence.
Challenge: Managing the Route to a Retail-Ready Product
Solved through coordinated UK production
Transforming an approved fragrance into a retail-ready product involves multiple suppliers, technical requirements and production stages. Our team managed compliance, filling, atomiser fitting, label application, assembly and packing in the UK, giving Peter Christian one coordinated production route and a professionally finished fragrance ready for sale through its existing channels.
